Powermatic Banjo for Model 45 or Model 90 wood lathe.
This banjo works on either Powermatic Model 45 or Model 90. Very popular wood lathes in high school wood shops during the 1970-90s. Today many of these lathes have found their way into home woodworking shops. This is a complete fully functional banjo.
Count yourself lucky if you have a PM 45 or PM 90 or come across one.
For those of you that already have either a PM 45 or a PM 90, I am going to suggest why you might want a second banjo for your PM lathe. A second banjo opens the door to setting up two tool rests simultaneously for long spindle turning. I have a Powermatic Model 90 long bed lathe (18” longer than the standard model)
The long bed models were available by special order. I personally, have only ever seen two of the long bed lathes. The two banjo setup makes great sense on my long bed lathe.
Just an afterthought, I have a 24” two post tool rest that I am planning to list separately in a future ebay auction.It would be perfect for the two banjo set up that I mentioned.
